Bosra
The city of Bosra is about 2 hours’ drive south of Damascus and is an
ancient city which rose to prominence in Roman times as the capital of the province of Arabic (106 BC). One of the most remarkable things left in the city is the well-preserved Roman amphitheatre which seats 15,000 spectators and is the site for an art & music festival each year. Bosra has a large number of well-preserved ruins and is a fun day trip from Damascus.
